From "The Giltner Gazette" Giltner, Nebraska date Thursday, July 20, 1916, Page 4:
Mrs. Andrew Detamore
Sadie Anna Wolcott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wolcott, was born January 15, 1862, at St. Joe, Champaigne County, Illinois, and departed this life in Giltner, Nebraska, July 12, 1916, aged 54 years, 5 months, and 27 days.
At the age of four she was left an orphan and from that time made her home with an aunt until the time of her marriage to Mr. Andrew Detamore of Sidney, Illinois, January 25, 1883.
To this union were born two sons and four daughters, three of whom have preceded her to Yonder Shore.
Soon after their marriage they moved to Hamilton County, Nebraska, where they lived until 1893 when they moved to Amherst, Buffalo County, Nebraska, where they lived for six years, then returning to Hamilton County where she has since made her home.
Mrs. Detamore united with the Church of Christ at the age of sixteen years and has from that time lived a faithful Christian life.
For thirteen years she has been a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge and at one time held the position of chancellor.
Her illness dates back over a period of many months, but she began to fail more rapidly after contracting a cold in December and the change became more noticeable after the death of her daughter, Daisy, in February.
Throughout all her illness she was patient and cheerful and realizing the end was near she invited the members of her church to her home the Sunday afternoon before her death to sing several of her favorite songs, and being a lover of music she was greatly pleased with the singing and she intended having them come again, but the hand of the Grim Reaper interposed and despite all that skilled hands could do she passed away.
Thus the community loses one of its best liked and well known members. She was a loving and faithful mother and helpful wife and a friend of all with whom she came in contact.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, two sons, Charles of Phillips and Johnny of Giltner, and a daughter, Mrs. Edna Linden of Phillips, a sister in Illinois, many other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral was held from the Christian church Thursday afternoon, Rev. Bruce having charge of the services, and the body was laid to rest in the family lot in Lerton cemetery.
"Our loved ones, like their pictures are never away,
They are ours, as when they were here;
And love, surviving all change and decay,
Declare them immortal and fell they are here."
