Jesse James Cooper died Thursday, October 24, 1984, in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral was Saturday, October 26, in Mayer Funeral Home Chapel, Georgetown, SC, followed by bin Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cooper was born October 25, 1920, in Williamsburg County, a son of Johnny Cooper and Annie Liza Maybelle Davis Cooper. He was a Baptist and an Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired painting contractor.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Jane Ward Weavil Cooper; two sons, Jesse James Cooper Jr. and John Andrew Cooper, both of Georgetown; three stepsons, Donald Jefferson Weavil of North Carolina and David Benjamin Weavil and Daniel Howard Brumley, both of Georgetown; three brothers, Thomas A. Cooper of Conway, Billy Cooper of Charleston, and Murphy Cooper of Georgetown; a sister, Hazel C. Cribb of Walterboro; and four grandchildren.
