Lewis Beal Morris was the son of William Thomas Morris and Zylpha Jane Beauchamp, born on July 17, 1854 in Mahaska County, Iowa. In 1860 he is living with his family in Jasper County, Missouri. In 1870 they had moved on to Douglas County, Nebraska. Lewis was married to his first wife Mary E. Kirkpatrick December 22, 1881 in Dodge County, Nebraska. By the next year Lewis, his wife, and his parents had moved to Phillips County, Kansas. Lewis and Mary had 3 children: Zylpha Elizabeth Morris, David Beal Morris, and William Wesley Morris. Mary died in 1890. Lewis then married his 2nd wife Hattie A. Shapley on March 21, 1891 in Phillips County, Kansas. Lewis died July 17, 1919 in Phillips County, Kansas.
