Doug is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wilma Smith Carver; daughter, Donnie Hampton; son, Danny Carl (Stephanie) Carver; granddaughter, Denise Michelle (Jeff) Poole; grandson, Dustine Lane Carver; great-grandchildren, Anna, Haley & Ethan Poole; brothers, James Carver, Ernie & Doyle Smith; sisters, Dorothy Morgan & Anna Fuqua; sisters-in-law, Shirley Bohanan & Lorrel Gann. Doug was awarded a Presidential Citation for Courage and Valor around 1945.
