Mrs. Copeland died as a result of a car accident that happened at South Madison and Silk Avenues in Ottumwa. Her four children and another young girl who was a friend were also in the car and were taken to the Ottumwa Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Mrs. Copeland was the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth Ahsmus. She married Harvey Roy Copeland on January 6, 1948, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She and Mr. Copeland met while he was in the service, and she later came to this country.
Besides her husband and four children, Mrs. Copeland was survived by her parents in Germany and a sister, Mrs. Hilda Johnson, a resident of England. Funeral services were at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Ottumwa, in charge of the Rev. A.G. Edwards of the Northside Nazarene Church.
