Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 8 at 9 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro for Lucion Downs, 86, who passed away on May 30 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Mr. Downs was born on June 4, 1920 in Baldwin, MS. He served in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in WWII. He moved to the Imperial Valley in 1947 where he lived for 58 years. The last 2 years he has lived in Sallisaw, OK. He was employed with the Holtville Alfalfa Mill for 36 yeas as the Mill Foreman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia of 55 years.

Lucion is survived by his daughter, Janet and son-in-law, Skip Bigger of Pahrump, NV.; sons, and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Pauline Downs of Holtville and Kenny and Debbie Downs of Sallisaw, OK; sister, Lula Mae Sickles of Bard, CA. He has 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
