One of Louisa County's eldest residents, Robert W. Winston, Sr., 95, quietly departed this life on Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Coleman Thurston Winston; daughter, Essie Regina Pearson; son, Baby Boy Winston; one grandson; one great granddaughter; his parents, John and Sylvania Winston; three brothers, Marshall, Joseph, and James Winston; and two sisters, Sadie Martini (1900-1979) and Edna Reed (1920-1994).

He is survived by three daughters, Ella Mae Strong, Emma "Jane" Hungerford and Oleathia "Lede" Bullock; one son, Robert W. Winston, Jr. (Beverly); the extended Jackson family; three sisters, Geneva Hall, O'Della Lasley and Inez Thurston; five grandsons, four granddaughters, ten great grandsons, eight great granddaughters, one great-great grandson, two great-great granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family received friends for a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel (117 West Street, Louisa, VA, 23093) from 10am until 12 noon.
