Rebecca Robertson was the daughter of John Robertson (1775-1845) and his first known wife, Rebecca Teague (1780-1808). I used to list her as Rebecca Teague Robertson, was her middle name really Teague, after her mother's maiden name?

Rebecca married David Matthews on 17 Jul 1825 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Rebecca and David were known to be the parents of at least nine children, namely:

1. Martha "Patsy" Matthews Smith (1826-1880)

2. Mary Matthews (1829-1903)

3. Levi P. Matthews (1832-1916)

4. Eliza E. Matthews Stafford (1834-1910)

5. (John?) Tandy Mathews (1837-1923)

6. Esther Matthews (1839-1862)

7. John Matthews (1842-1862)

8. Emily Matthews Stewart (1845-1942)

9. William P. Matthews (1847-1862)

In 1850 the widow Rebecca and children Levi, Eliza, Tandy, Esther, John, Emily and William were living at Forsyth County, North Carolina. There is possibly additional children that died young.

Links to Rebecca's parents, husband, six of her nine known children and seven of her known siblings and half-siblings are included below.
