Betty Jean Hazlett, 82, of Oil City, died at 1:34 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born Dec. 2, 1929, in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella Mae Heckathorn Tock.

Betty attended Siverly Elementary and Lincoln Junior High School.

She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Siverly.

A homemaker, her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. She was a 40 year member of the YWCA and enjoyed being a member of the Gallivanters Club there.

Betty also had a fond spot in her heart for animals, especially her two dogs.

She was married Dec. 25, 1945, to Donald M. Hazlett Sr., and he preceded her in death June 11, 2004.

Survivors include nine children, William Edward Hazlett and his wife, Sandi, of Oil City, Carol Keyes of Australia, Donald M. Hazlett Jr. and his wife, Theresa, of Oil City, Linda M. Wagner and her husband, Randy, of Wisconsin, James A. Hazlett and his wife, Tammi Hazlett of Oil City, Brenda S. Zawislak and her husband, Ted, of Tionesta, Roy T. Hazlett of Puerto Rico, Tammy L. Snell and her husband, Mike, of Titusville and Wayne S. Hazlett of Oil City; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.Also surviving is a brother, James Tock of Texas; and two sisters, Dora Hepler of Seneca and Emily Meehan of Oil City.

She was preceded by four brothers Ivan, Claire, Frank and Richard Tock.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday from the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Davis officiating.

Interment will follow at Heckathorn Church Cemetery.
