FROM SMOKY HOLLOW.
Correspondence by Mountain Ralph.

There has been considerable moving going on in our community lately. Dr. R.H. Smith has moved to the farm between Thomas Coakley's and John M. Wright's, and Eli W.B. Salsman has moved to the place vacated by Dr. Smith.

There are several of our citizens in Campbellsville attending court this week, and some of our boys are keeping a sharp lookout, as they are expecting to have to go before the grand jury.

There is considerable sickness in our community. Squire W.C. Warren is reported sick at Dr. S.D. Coakley's. Rev. W.C. Webster is sick at this writing.

Alex Milby, Summersville, was in our midst last week surveying land for uncle Billy Goff, L.W. Scott and Willie Poteet. John C. Shreves, of Whitewood, was also in our midst surveying land.

Alex Bloyd had a hog bitten by a mad dog some time ago, and a few days ago it became mad. Alex killed it and placed it n a hollow stump to burn. The fire caught to some fencing and did considerable damage before it could be extinguished.
All fools day brought us a copious and much needed rain in these parts, and wheat and grass look 50 per cent better. Our farmers are wearing a smile and cheerful look, as it is very likely the weather will be favorable from now on,, and the hard times, they think, can be more successfully combatted.

Mr. R.A. Darnell was in our midst last week visiting his brothers.
