Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ Community Church in El Centro for Daniel Lee "Dan" Castleberry, 62, of Imperial, who died Sunday in El Centro Regional Medical Center.

Pastor Walter Collace will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.

Mr. Castleberry was born on April 8, 1942, in Powell, Okla. He married Retha Gale Kent in Powell on April 14, 1961. He worked as a tractor mechanic and operator at local ranches for several years.

He married Retha Gale Kent in Powell on April 14, 1961. He worked as a tractor mechanic and operator at local ranches for several years.

Mr. Castleberry was an avid fisherman and antique collector with a passion for playing the guitar. He loved fishing along the All-American Canal with his family and playing guitar with longtime friend, Bill Miller.

He loved spending precious time with his family and most of all his grandchildren, family said.

Teaching his grandchildren to play musical instruments from the guitar to the harmonica was one of his greatest joys. He was an avid believer in the Bible and loved Jesus Christ, according to family.

Mr. Castleberry was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Castleberry; and grandsons, Anthony Allen Castleberry and Roy Falcon Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Retha Castleberry of Imperial; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Cruz Castleberry and Tony and Monalisa Castleberry, all of Imperial; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Jason Shafer of Imperial, Kathy and Danny Severe of Brawley and Linda Faye and Roy Falcon of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Louie Johnson of Arkansas; grandchildren, Nellie, Danny, Kirstie, Danielle, Dani, Travis, Shelby, Dalton, Jacob, Morgan, Emily and Nathaniel; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
