Services for Johnny Lee "Shorty" Hopkins will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamer Church of God with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hopkins, 68, died Monday, October 29, 2012 at his residence.
Born in Dillon, SC, September 20, 1944, he was the son of the late Johnny Williamson and Ruth Hopkins. He was a member of Hamer Church of God, and he was employed as a fertilizer spreader truck driver for 44 years, having worked for Southern States the past 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hopkins of Dillon; son, Bryan (Kimberly) Hopkins of Dillon; daughter, Pamela (Gary) Williams of Dillon; grandchildren, Gary Lee Williams, Jessica Paige Willis, Devin Williams, Carrie Hopkins, Shea Williams, Barbara Williams, and Ashley Hopkins; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Charles) Hudson of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Edward "Red" (Alice) Hopkins, Hensley (Linda) Hopkins, Bobby Hopkins, Gary Hopkins, and Jack Hopkins, all of Dillon.
