From her obituary in the Guymon Daily Herald, Fri., Dec., 17, 2004:
Vonda's parents were A. C. and Rowena Young Pate. The family moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas where she attended school & graduated from Lakeside High School. She worked for an insurance co. for several years and in 1945, she moved to Guymon, OK where she met her future husband. Vonda & Gerald Dixon were married on April 13, 1946 in Clayton, New Mexico. They shared 58 years together. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Rae Jean; a son, Jerry; grandchildren & great grandchildren; a brother, Clay and sisters, Crystal, Frances, & Mildred.
Graveside services were held Sun, Dec. 19 at 2:30 p.m at Elmhurst Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m at the First Presbyterian Church in Guymon. Memorals suggested for No Man's Land Historical Society.

Her grave is located in the section between Rose Lane & 500 St. and between D St. & E St.
