Bobby Burke, 67, of 96 East Maple Wabash, Indiana, died 2:30 am Saturday December 18 at his home. He was born on April 15, 1937 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Robert U. and Goldie (Collins) Burke. He married Versa Gay Sargent in Wabash, Indiana.
He graduated from VanLear High School, VanLear, Kentucky. He retired from from GenCorp/BTR in 1998 after 33-1/2 years. He attended Wabash Christian Heritage Church, and was a 30+ year member of the Wabash Eagles Lodge. He loved to fish, ice fish and mushroom hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Versa Gay Burke of Wabash; two daughters, Terry Lynn (Robin) Robinson and Brenda Lee (Thom) Hiner both of Wabash; two step-sons: Larry (Melissa) McGlothin, Jr. and Shawn C. (Colleen Friedman) McGlothin of Wabash; step-daughter, Heather D. (Orlando) Armstrong of Wabash; two grandsons, Robert Carl Robinson and Dylan Hiner of Wabash; granddaughter Hannah Hiner of Wabash; two step-grandsons, Chandler Jones and Stuart Jones both of Wabash; three step-granddaughters, Kaeley McGlothin, Amanda Armstrong, and Sarah Armstrong all of Wabash; four brothers, John (Sharon) Burke of Holgate, Ohio, Lowell (Phyllis) Burke of Dayton, Ohio, Paul (Betty) Burke of Newport News, Virginia, and Willis (Norma) Burke of VanLear, Kentucky; and sister, Wanda Burke of VanLear. He was preceded in death by one brother Angus Burke who died September 2002.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am Wednesday Dec. 22, 2004 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel of Wabash. Rev. Tim Prater will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum, Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
