John Spencer Reynolds died on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. He was born in Margerum, AL, on October 12, 1928 to John Spencer Reynolds and Rose Mae Hurd Reynolds who preceded him in death.
He married the former Eleanor Barton of Marion in 1957. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years. After retiring from the Air Force in 1975, he, Eleanor, and their sons returned to Dallas County. After living in many places around the world, John enjoyed farming his family land in the Browns, Alabama area for the rest of his life.
John was also preceded in death by his sisters Norma Rose Hopkins, Elva Ann Jackson, Mary Lou Larimore, and Lenore Edwards Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor Barton Reynolds and by his sons, John Spencer Reynolds III (Kathleen), Steven Bradley Reynolds (Amy), Stanley Radford Reynolds, and one grandchild, Elizabeth Amber Reynolds. He is also survived by his brothers, James Pleasant Reynolds, George Arthur Reynolds, Mack Dudley Reynolds, and Hugh Oliver Reynolds, and by his sister Margaret Elizabeth Mock.
A private memorial service was held on Friday, July 29, 2011, at Church Street United Methodist Church.
