A son of John and Rebecca Yohn. He was united in marriage with Pauline Hazel Dodson on Oct. 8, 1923.

Mr. Yohn was a veteran of World War I.

He was survived by his wife and daughter, Jane Ann Yohn. He resided with his family at 341 Baynton Avenue, Lakemont, PA.

He died at the home of his sister, Charlotte Smith, in Newport, PA. Interment was in Newport.

He had worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He had been off duty since Sept. 1, 1933, and for a time had been a patient at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.

The late John Russell Yohn, a sergeant in the war and passed away on April 16, 1934, was a relative of James Buchanan fifteenth president of the United States.

Altoona Mirror Monday, April 21, 1952, page 17:
Mrs. Jane Ann Yohn Dupnock daughter of Mrs. Pauline Yohn of Duncansville and the late Lt. John Russell Yohn has been visiting at the home of her mother who has been ill since last November. Jane Ann was married four years ago [abt 1948] to Mr. Dupnock who is safety boss of coal company. They reside at St. Michael. They have two sons, Michael and Danny.

The Perry County Historical Society, PO Box 73, Newport, PA 17074, reported this is the only cemetery in Newport. They verified Mr. Yohn is buried on the plot beside his parents. 3/11/2013.
