HAFER, WILLIAM SHANNON *SHANNON*--William Shannon Hafer was born June 22, 1844, in Rainsburg, Pa., and passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. James Ough, at Strang, Neb., October 2, 1920.

From Rainsburg he moved to Henry county, Illinois, in 1857, residing there until 1879, since which time his home had been in Geneva or hereabout. He united with the Congregational church a number of years ago.

The funeral took place from the Geneva Congregational church at 3 p.m. Sunday, and was conducted by Rev. J. A. McKeeman. Complying with a request of the deceased, Hon. Charles H. Sloan delivered a short address also. The interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
