Josephine (Uccello) Lombardo, 88, of Hartford wife of Anthony Lombardo, died Saturday, (October 11, 2003) at a local convalescent home.

Born in Hartford she was the daughter of the late Paul and Maria (Gentile) Uccello.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Frank A. Lombardo of Hartford; a daughter-in-law; Jeanne D. Lombardo of East Hartford; five grandchildren, Daniel, Steven, David, Karen and Edmund; a great granddaughter, Olivia; a brother, Salvatore Uccello of East Otis, MA; three sisters, Lucy Ciccaglione of East Windsor, Lina Dougherty and Mary Smith both of Michigan; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Ronald P. Lombardo; a daughter, Gloria Nellie Lombardo; and two brothers, Vincent and Nicholas Uccello. Josephine's family wishes to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Maple View Manor, Rocky Hill for all of their efforts.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 96 Oak St., Hartford, CT 06106.
