Born in Bromberg, Prussia, which is now in Poland. In 1892 he graduated for the College of Medicine at the State University in Iowa City, Iowa. He was a country doctor in Lowden, Iowa.

DR. L.F. RABE BURIED THURSDAY AFTERNOON

Burial services for Dr. L.F. Rabe occurred this afternoon at Oakwood cemetery at 3 o'clock. Funeral services were held at 1 pm from his home at Lowden. Dr. Rabe and his wife had visited many times in Monticello in the home of the latter's niece, Miss Caroline Schoenhut.

The birth of Frederick Lewis Rabe occurred Feb 7, 1852 in the city of Bromberg, Germany. He came to the United States in 1880 and lived in the East until 1883 when he settled at Marshalltown. A year later in 1884 , he was married to Amelia Schoenhut of Peoria, Ill.

He graduated in 1892 from the college of medicine at the State University at Iowa City. He continued to practice his profession until two years ago when he retired on account of advancing years. Dr. and Mrs. Rabe settled in Lowden in 1918. Not having any children of their own they adopted a two-year-old girl who is is Mrs Echo Rabe Hall of Los Angeles, Calif. She and Mrs. Rabe and a group of relatives were present at the funeral.
