Julia (Koehn) Buller, 95, surrounded by her family, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2012 at the Bethel Home in Montezuma.

She was born to Joseph and Ida (Dirks) Koehn on December 15, 1916 in Cimarron, Kansas. She grew up on the family farm northeast of Cimarron and received her education in the Cimarron school system.

At the age of 16, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was born into the family of God. She was baptized by Minister H.J. Mininger at Cimarron on October 27, 1932 and became a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, remaining a faithful member all her life. Her faith in her Savior never wavered and her testimony of her salvation remained firm and sure at the time of her death.

She and Harvey M. Buller were married on August 16, 1936 in Cimarron, sharing life's joys, sorrows, and trials together for almost 65 years until his death on March 14, 2001. To this union were born three sons, Vernon, Duane, and Ronald, and one daughter, Sharon.

Father was a farm laborer during the first years of their marriage and they moved numerous times. Mother accepted these moves graciously without complaining always working hard to make each new home comfortable and inviting. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother, putting the interests and needs of her family ahead of her own. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing many garments for others as well as clothes for her own family. Her family relished her "signature" hot rolls and pies at family dinners and holiday meals.

With her children in school, she also worked in the food service department of the Montezuma School System for many years. She took special interest in the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished the letters and visits she received from them.

Those left who will miss her presence dearly but cherish precious memories are her children; Vernon and wife Shirley, Duane and Ronald all of Montezuma and Sharon and husband Denton Unruh of Maize; four grandchildren, Bradley Buller and wife Elizabeth of Council Grove; Melody and husband Kraig Kinnamon of Shawnee; Clarice and husband Bradley Richardson of Ingalls; and Bruce Unruh and wife Tricia of Wichita; nine great grandchildren, Daniel Buller, Laura Buller, Benjamin Buller and wife Jody, Kellen Kinnamon, Hannah Kinnamon, Lance Richardson, Jerica and husband Jesse Lamm, Cory Unruh, and Isaih Unruh; three sisters, Osie Koehn of Garden City, Matilda and husband Eugene Wedel of Montezuma, and Kathy and husband Melvin Becker of Moundridge; one brother, Lee Koehn of Montezuma; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, also preceding in death were her parents; two brothers, Jacob and Pete Koehn; and one sister, Carrie Koehn.

We are deeply grateful for the loving care our Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother received at the Bethel Home during her final years.
