Sarah Caroline Holsclaw, an 81-year-old great-grandmother and widow of a well known Pacific Northwest attorney, died Saturday in Portland sanitarium. She had been hospitalized four days.

Mrs. Holsclaw was born in Vilas, N.C., and came west in 1912. She lived in Idaho for a time and then moved to Spokane, where he husband, practiced law. Later they moved to Kelso.

In 1930, Mrs. Holsclaw and her family moved to Portland. She was living with a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Shaffer, 3803 S.E. Lincoln street, at the time of her death.

Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Shaffer, are two daughters, Mrs. W. W. Bounds, Portland, and Mrs. M. E. Bowler, of Spokane. Two sons, Fred and Howard, also live in Portland. There is one sister, Mrs. Rilla Henson of North Carolina, 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Edward Holman & Son funeral home and burial will be at Riverview cemetery.
