Death Claims Nathan Heath

Foreman for S. P. Passes Suddenly

Nathan J. Heath, 49, 30-year veteran of the Southern Pacific railroad, died suddenly Sunday of a heart attack at his home at 6205 S.E. 23d avenue.

Mr. Heath was general round-house foreman for the road in Portland from March, 1937, until his retirement in April, 1947. Later he was employed in the office of the stae highway commission here.

Funeral services, under direction of Edward Holman & Son, will be held on arrival of his son, Nathan, stationed with the army in Alaska.

Mr. Heath was born in Hebron, Neb., September 9, 1898.

He was a 32d degree Mason and was affiliated with the Scottish Rite temple here. He was past commander of the Knights Templar of Ogden, where he was also a member of the Elks lodge.

In addition to his son, he is survived by the widow, Josephine Heath, whom he married in Ogden May 25, 1925; a daughter, Mrs. Robert L. Recken of Portland; one grandchild, Stephen Recken; the mother, Mrs. H. B. Sawyer of Ogden and a brother, C. R. Heath of Bell, Cal.
