Mr. Brownfield was a retired chief clerk of the Bonneville dam residency. He retired in December 1951 after nearly 18 years of government service. He started working at Bonneville dam as a clerk in 1934 and was promoted to chief clerk in 1937.
Surviving him are his widow, Ruby E., Portland; a son, William E., Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Peterson, Portland, and a sister, May, Elizabethtown, Ky.
At the time of his death, he was secretary-treasurer of the B.M. W. Specialties company.
Interment will be at the Riverview cemetery. Rev. W. Robert Ellis, curate of Trinity Episcopal church, will officiate.
