Mr. Beckendorf moved to Portland from his native St. Paul, Minn. For many years, he was head watchmaker at Staples Jewelry on SW. Broadway. He later had his own watchmaking business in the Reuff Jewelry Store on Broadway, before retiring in 1949. Since retirement, he has lived in Forest Grove.
Surviving are five sons and daughters: Walter Beckendorf and Mrs. Meldren Anderson, both of Portland, Mrs. Eldon May, Forest Grove; Lowell Beckendorf, San Francisco, and Howard Beckendorf, Greenbrae, Calif., a brother, Arthur Beckendorf, Sedona, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Fuiten Mortuary Chapel in Forest Gove. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Portland at 2:30 p.m.
