Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Gulledge Jones, 98, of North, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 29, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2012, at First Baptist Church of North with Rev. Sam Fordham and Rev. Bob Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Cal Bolin, Steve Salley, Ben Spearman, Sid Livingston, Bubba Creech and Dennis Bolin.

Mrs. Jones was born on September 19, 1914 in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late James Arthur and Annie Ratliff Gulledge. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North, the TEL Sunday School Class, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker, and worked at Reed’s, Inc., in North for many years.

Survivors include two daughters: Jean Arthur Sensow, of Cornelia, GA; and Martha Anne Axson (James Marion), of North; a grandson, Jim Axson (Lisa) of North; a granddaughter, Tammy Sensow, of Cornelia, GA; three great-granddaughters: Ashley Elizabeth Axson, Rebecca Anne Axson, and Annie Elizabeth Gantt; a sister, Sue G. Hurst, of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. She delighted in all things related to her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm Holland Jones; a sister, Evelyn Steele; and three brothers: James “Jim” Gulledge, William “Bill” Gulledge, and Joe Gulledge.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North ( and other times at the home of Martha Anne and James Marion Axson.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of North, Grove Park Hospice, or Hopewell Southern Methodist Church.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Grove Park Hospice in Orangeburg for the medical care and sincere compassion they showed during her illness; and special thanks to Mamie Livingston, Barbara Anne Harley, Louise Dibble, Martha Strickland, and Arthur Mae Greene for the care they gave her at home.
