Services for Jessie B. Boyd, of Summit, are 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel in Brookhaven with burial in Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery in Pike County.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 10 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boyd, 92, died Feb. 25, 2009, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born on Oct. 22, 1916, to Joseph Bardwell and Florence Leonard.

She was a machine operator for Stahl Urban Co. She was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church in Pricedale. Mrs. Boyd was a Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lonnie V. Boyd; her sons, Lonnie V. Boyd Jr. and Lauvaughn Boyd; her daughters, Faye Roberts and Rosemary Rippy; her brothers, Emmett Bardwell, Vernon Bardwell, Woodie Bardwell and Quitman Bardwell; and her sisters, Essie Kilpatrick and Josephine Baker; a granddaughter, Melinda Sue Jordan; a grandson, Ricky Case; and a great-granddaughter, Michelle Bessonette.

Survivors are a daughter, Evelyn Bigner and husband, Merlon, of Summit; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Boyd, of Bogue Chitto; her 15 grandchildren; her nine great-great-grandchildren; her 10 step great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
