Lois Marion Sanders

1937-2016

Lois M. (Scott) Sanders of Pensacola, Florida passed away on September 29, 2016 (Thursday). Lois was born in Hadley, Pennsylvania on February 12, 1937.

Lois was an active member of Pensacola Baptist Temple.

Lois moved to Pensacola in 1960. She was a much-loved waitress at several restaurants: Holiday Inn, Gulf Breeze, Sambo's and the Coffee Cup. She retired from the Coffee Cup but still returned often to see her customers, who cherished her dearly.

Lois married Rudolph V. Sanders who preceded her in death in 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Altha Scott; her brothers and sisters: Doris Rector, Sarah Hawkins, Bill Scott, Harry Scott, Ella Mae Grossman and Lyle Scott (her twin brother). Left to cherish her memory are her sister Patricia Caughey of Milton, Florida and brother Robert Scott of Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania. She had numerous nieces and nephews who will always remember Aunt Lois with love. She was dearly loved by her church family and her wonderful friends.

Lois was one-of-a-kind. She will be remembered for her ready smile, warm hugs, infectious sense of humor, quest for fun, inappropriate behavior and love of life.

Lois' brothers-in-Christ from Pensacola Baptist Temple will be her pallbearers. Her nephews will be honorary pallbearers.

Family will receive friends on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Pensacola Baptist Temple, Cerny Road, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Pensacola Baptist Temple on Tuesday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverends Glenn Anderson and Bill Stewart officiating. Lois will be laid to rest at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, Pensacola.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pensacola Baptist Temple, 5000 Cerney Road, Pensacola, Florida 32526.
