Eve was born presumably in that part of Virginia that became Grant Co., West Virginia. There she married Daniel Idleman, a son of Francis and Judith (Rohrbaugh) Idleman. Daniel died while still in his thirties and the subsequent Civil War years were difficult for the young widow and her several children. Soon after war's end, Eve and her children migrated to Putnam Co., Missouri. Her son Simon apparently retured to his native community to assist at his grandfather's mill and inherited the family farm.

Eve remarried to a Brethren minister but the marriage was not a successful one and she went into the home of her daughter Lydia. Eve died in Unionville, Missouri. (Bio by Mark Hale, citing RETURN TO GREENLAND)
