Beryl Jane Rawding, 84, of Shelton, WA passed away on July 15, 2012 at Fir Lane Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with Alzheimers. Beryl was born on November 5, 1927 to Harry H. and Imagene P. (Crow) Leonard in The Dalles, OR. She graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1945 and married Jack Rawding in Shelton in 1947. Beryl worked for twenty years as a teller at Seattle First Bank here in Shelton and various other banks, including one in Juneau, AK. She eventually became an oyster shucker for the family owned and operated oyster business, Rawding Oyster Company from Olympia. Her family shared that she really never did retire and continued to help seed and maintain the oysters for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, canning, camping and reading. She and her husband enjoyed snowbirding to Arizona and especially enjoyed spending time with family. She is survived by a son and a daughter; a sister; seven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack and sister Betty. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Donations can be made the Alzheimers Association of Washington, 12721 30th Ave. N, Seattle, WA 98109. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.
