Patricia was born January 24, 1931 in Augusta, Georgia, daughter of Marion Lee Jones and Charlotte Chappell Jones.
She attended the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Hay was an avid environmentalist, gardener, devoted mother to her children and her beloved cat, Scooter.
She is survived by her two daughters: Charlotte Hay Tilton of Hilton Head, SC, Cynthia Hay Johnson of Johns Island, SC; two sons: Solomon Legare Hay, III (Peggy) of Charleston, SC, William Caldwell Hay (Linda) of Hilton Head, SC; brothers, Labon Chappell Jones (Suzi) of Florence, SC, Marion Lee Jones (Jean) of Augusta, GA; four grandchildren, James Alston Keith, William Caldwell Hay, Jr., Solomon Legare Hay, IV, Cameron Christine Hay.
She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Cranston Jones.
