Joseph Wilson Rushing, 89, of Ripley died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Dyersburg Regional Hospital. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 PM Thursday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley. Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday at Garner Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Marys Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Rushing, a retired farmer and pipeliner, was also an Army Veteran serving in WW II where he was a Purple Heart recipient.
The widower of Jean Vowell Rushing, he is survived by two daughters Debra Jackson and JoAnn Ray both of Ripley; a son Joe Rushing Jr of Halls; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
