George J. Albers, Bethalto, Dies

George John Albers, 70, a life-long resident of the Bethalto area, died Monday at 4:35 p.m. in Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, where he had been a patient for 10 weeks.

Albers was born April 21, 1873, in Fort Russell township. He had been retired for several years and had resided in the village of Bethalto.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Albers, and three sons, Arthur of Alton, Harold of Bethalto, and William, and a daughter, Miss Bernice Albers of Bethalto. He also leaves a brother, Edward Albers of Wayside, Nebraska, and a sister, Mrs. Herman Renken of Bethalto, and seven grandchildren.

Albers had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto for many years.

The body is at Streeper funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
