Son of Russell Hubbard ADAMS (1835-1908) and Mary Elizabeth Stone ADAMS (1834-1902).

Married Ida Pearl BAKER in 1893.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Jarvis W. Adams was born June 26, 1865, in the old "Brown Eagle" tavern in the Narrows a mile west of this village. This tavern was on the Ellicottville stage route before the advent of the railroad, and was destroyed by fire many years ago. Mr. Adams was the son of Russell H. Adams, a well known early settler, who was one of a family of twenty-two children.

After attending Ten Broeck Academy, Jarvis was variously employed until in 1890 he went to farming, at which he worked both locally, and at Canandaigua for three years. For fourteen years he was in partnership with Ed. Napier in the hay business, buying and pressing hay. In 1895 he went to Iowa and South Dakota, and pressed hay to ship east, where there was a shortage caused by army worms and frost. Six years he ran a billard and pool room on Elm street. He has since 1911 been engaged in the cattle business. For 45 years he has lived on North Academy street. Mr. Adams is an active member of the Litchfield Company.
