Charles Bevington

Columbiana - Charles L. "Chuck" Bevington, 67, of 1867 Lower Elkton Road, died of cancer at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Lisbon. Born March 31, 1936 in Columbiana to R. Grant and Erma McFadden Bevington, he lived here all of his life.

A member of Leetonia St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Joe Williams Post 131 American Legion. Mr. Bevington served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was an avid sports enthusiast and golfer. He was a traffic manager for several years at the NRM Corp's Columbiana Plant. He retired from McNeil/NRM in Akron in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, the former Frieda M. Chellis, whom he married May 2, 1975; a son, James Bevington, of Charlotte, N.C. ; four daughters, Susan Harrison of Wyandotte, Mich., Mrs. Tim (Karen) Cuthbertson of Newton, N.C., Mrs. Barry (Lisa) Miner of Columbiana, and Mrs. Jeffrey (Rae Ann) Stoy of Columbiana: four sisters, Mrs. Marilyn Blythe of Columbiana, Mrs. Al (Carolyn) Dilz of Cincinnati, Mrs. Jack (Jo Ann) Stephens and Mrs. Bob (Marcia) Henderson, both of Columbiana, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with Pastor Kari Lankford of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Columbiana Youth Baseball Association, PO Box 265, Columbiana, 44408 or St. Paul?s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
