Howard E. Owen, age 87 years, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Howard had lived in West Branch since 1989, formerly of Flint. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Howard enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing cards and bowling. He was a devoted husband and father, was active in the Boy Scouts and he would help anyone who needed it.
Howard is survived by his children David (Sandra) Owen of Roscommon, Laura Charles of West Branch, Rick (Carole) Owen of Bedford, WY and April (Ray) Jackson of Grand Blanc, his grandchildren Darcy Ralston, David R. Owen, Greg (Anne) McArdle, Nichol Goodfellow and Ethan Goodfellow and his great-grandchildren Ciera Owen, Brady McArdle, Paige McArdle and Gabriel Ralston. He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice on September 28, 2012 and his mother Adabell Owen.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Tuesday, 12:30 p.m., at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
