He was born on June 27, 1915
in Providence Township in
Buena Vista County. He was
the second of four sons born to
Alfred J. and Ingeborg
Thuesen Grau. He lived his entire
life on the family farm. He
was baptized and confirmed in
the Nain Lutheran Church
where he was a lifetime
member.

On Feb. 25, 1940, Ejner was
united in marriage to Maxine
Andersen and to this union one
daughter, Sheila, was born.
He served on the church board
of Nain Lutheran and was a
member of the Danish
Brotherhood Lodge. He was
active in farming until 1980
and since then has enjoyed his
hobby of raising exotic birds.

Preceding him in death
were his parents, Alfred and
Ingeborg Grau, and his two
brothers, Ivan Grau and
Arlan.

Survivors include his wife;
his daughter, Sheila and son-in-
law, Gaylord Sliefert of
Dow City; three grandchildren;
one brother,
Richard and his wife, Thora of
Frederic, Wis., two sisters-in-law,
Ruth Grau and Mayta
Anderson of Newell, a
brother-in-law, Weldon
Andersen and his wife, Erma
of Newell, and other relatives.
