Lola B. Miller Hale, 87, of Gray, Washington Co TN, passed
away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Appalachian Christian
Village, in Johnson City, TN, after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Alleghany Co, MD, and was a daughter of
the late Lillie Mae Shepherd and George Harness Miller.

She served in the United States Air Guard (WAC) during
World War II, worked as an Inspector with North Electric
Co, and was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. She
was a wonderful cook and one of her greatest joys was to
cook for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by
her husband, Charles R. 'Pete' Hale; one step grandson,
Christopher Cox; sisters, Mabel Warnick, Evelyn Armstrong,
Pearl Skidmore, Juanita Tinsley, Genevieve Emmerick, Ada
Wolford, Alice Skidmore, and Gertrude Miller; brothers,
Ferman Miller, Lee Miller, and Thomas Miller; and son-in-
law, Richard Shadden.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell
Hale (Kay), and Dale Hale (Angie); daughter, Sherry
Shadden; brothers, Ernest F. Miller, of Kingsport, TN, and
James H. Miller, of Mineral Ridge, OH; grandchildren,
Rhonda Widner, Stephanie Roark (Jon), Bo Shadden, Beth
Page, Jimmy Hale (Christina), Chuck Hale, Lorrie Hale, and
Aaron Cox (Kelly); eight great-grandchildren; and several
nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to express a special Thank You to
the nurses and staff of Appalachian Christian Village
Skilled Care for their unbelievable care and concern.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, April
10, 2012, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., at Buffalo Baptist Church. The
family will also receive friends anytime at the home of
Sherry Shadden, 954 Shadden Road, Gray, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., with Dr. Jody
Jenkins and Dr. Gene Lasley officiating. Pallbearers will
be Jimmy Hale, Bo Shadden, Jon Roark, Tim Miller, Jerry
Lovegrove, Terry Hale, Alvin Saylor, and Aaron Cox.
Honorary pallbearers are Mac Marker and Chuck Hale.

Burial services will follow in the Gray Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Boones Creek
Christian Church Building Fund or Buffalo Ridge Baptist
Church Bus Ministry
