Perry J. Lambert "Red"

WASHINGTON TERRACE – Our loving dad, Perry J. Lambert, 77, made his final touchdown on Monday, April 16, 2007, after courageously battling Parkinson's disease for several years.

He was born March 18, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, to Jacob and Susan Lambert. He was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School.

Dad married his sweetheart, Phyllis Eleanor Bundy on February 25, 1956 in Elko, Nevada. Father Joe Devlin united them in holy matrimony at St. Mary's Catholic Church on March 5, 1966. Phyllis died June 26, 2004.

He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, was a manager of Skaggs Drug, and retired from Thiokol Corporation in 1992.

Dad was a huge sports enthusiast. In his youth he ran track and wrestled for Ogden High School. He was an all star football player for Ogden High and Weber College. He shared his love of the game as a little league football coach. He enjoyed sports so much that as a St. Joseph HS Booster Club member, he attended all but one basketball game from 1972-1980. He traveled through many snow storms to make sure there were at least one cheerleader and one pep club member at every game. Although he never had the joy of having a son, each and every young man he coached or was a "fan" of, he treated as his own sons. Thanks guys for the joy you brought to dad's life.

Dad found the most happiness in spending time with his family. He loved to travel and made sure he took his family on a summer vacation every year – always finding a route through Nevada. Perry loved to gamble and was a great blackjack and craps player.

Perry was a simple man, a man of few words but many actions. People were attracted to him by his kindness, compassion and silly sense of humor. If you knew him well, you knew how he loved his coffee. . ."cream and sugar stirred counter clockwise so the nectar of the gods would rise to the top". If he ever got the least bit angry you'd better watch out otherwise he might "thump your melon". He was a friend to everyone that met him.

The family wishes to thank the entire staffs of LifePath Hospice, Family Tree Assisted Living and Washington Terrace Health Services for the love, compassion and care they provided to dad over the past six months.

He was a dedicated father to Susan (Dirk) Mullikin and Sherri (Lyle) Hansen. He was an awesome grandpa to Sarah Padilla, Travis (Jyll) Padilla, Zachary and Jacob Hansen and Doug and Shane Mullikin. He is survived by one sister, Louise Bundy, Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law Velma Lambert, brother-in-law Jim (Betty Jean) Bundy and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2740 Pennsylvania Avenue, with Father Reuse officiating.

Holy Rosary will be recited at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday at 6 p.m. with a viewing following.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
