Funeral services for Charles Wayne "Chuck" Pittman, 64, of Georgetown, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial and full military honors at Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 18, 1948 in Danville, Ky. to the late Charles William and Irene Hogue Pittman. He was a retired Staff Sergeant (E-7) unit administrator with the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28, and attended the First Southern Baptist Church in Clarksville. He loved people, his family and especially his beloved dog, Bailey. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his son, Jason Pittman; grandson, Caleb Pittman, both of North Carolina; sister, Elaine Sheets and husband, Mike, of Clarksville; best friend, Mark Zimmerman, of Georgetown; nieces, Shellie Stewart and husband, Lonnie, Sherri Poppelwell and husband, Rodney, and Cindy Sheets, of Clarksville; beloved pet, Bailey; and four cousins.
