GROVES - Elsie Chance Lindsey, 90, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at her residence in Groves.

She was a native of Port Barre, Louisiana and a resident of Port Arthur/Groves area since 1915. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and member of World Wind Square Dance Club and the Y-Not Square Dance Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor Eugene Cargill and Reverend Don Golasinski officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

Survivors include her sons: Thomas Ronald Chance of Nederland, James Donald Chance of Groves, Eugene M. Chance of Groves, Randall R. Chance of Port Acres; sister, Juanita Carrier Allen of Groves; thirteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
