Thomas Atkinson of Merrickville died suddenly at his home on Wednesday night, Dec 20, 1940. Mr. Atkinson had been in good health. He had taken a load of hay into Merrickville in the afternoon. Late Wednesday evening Mr. Atkinson became ill; he passed away in a few minutes.

Mr. Atkinson was born 66 years ago in Wolford Township. He and Margaret Barry where married in 1901.

Surviving family includes his wife, two daughters, one brother, two sisters and six grandchildren.

Rev. R. W. Armstrong conducted the funeral at the Unite Church on Friday afternoon. Interment was in the Union Cemetery.
