Bath, SC-Mrs. Betty Jean Wheeler Able, 73, of Bath, SC, wife of the late Mr. Richard Lee Able, entered into rest on Saturday, November 24th, 2012, with her family by her side.
Born in Emanuel County, GA and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Grady and Mamie Collins Wheeler. She worked at Bath Mill until it closed, later retiring from Pepperidge Farm. She was a member of New Hope Gospel Chapel. Betty Jean enjoyed cooking but more than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include daughters, Theresa Kaney, Langley, SC, Angie Able Martin, (Roger) Aiken, SC and the late Priscilla Jean "Doodle" Jones; siblings, Doris Fulmer, Langley, SC, Bonnie Hutto, Johnstown, SC, Marvin Wheeler, Edgefield, SC, Vivian Antwine, Bath, SC and Kathlene Coxwell, Swainsboro, GA; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, 2012, at 3 o'clock at New Hope Gospel Chapel with Pastor Bob Still officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC. Pallbearers will be Donald Stephens, Jeff Battle, Penny Kaney and Raymond Krauss.
It has been suggested by the family that is so desired, memorials in memory of Betty Jean be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 2220 Woodside Executive Ct., Aiken, SC 29803.
Friends are welcome to call at the Able residence on Railroad St., Bath, SC and friends will also be greeted by the family on Monday, November 26th, 2012, from 6 until 8 o'clock at
