Ephraim Severance Jr, was born in Groton MA in 1749 and, at the age of 18, moved to Washington with his father in 1767. Although he was granted Washington land for clearing in 1770, it is uncertain whether he ever took up residence in Washington. Ephraim Severance Jr., enlisted as a soldier in the Revolution in 1775. He married Ruth Gould on 10/3/1785. Ephraim and Ruth had seven children: James, Jacob, Benjamin, George, Ephraim, Seth, and Lagrange. Ephraim died on 3/1/1826.
