Willard P. McEwan, 72, husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, passed into his Heavenly Father's arms June 14, 1995.

Born January 27, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William McEwan and Grace Pixton McEwan. Married Arlyne Bytheway in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 26, 1944. He served an LDS misson to the New England states and was a veteran of World War II. He was a great example of service in action. He served Scouting in many capacities for over 40 years, and was awarded the Silver Beaver. Mac loved his family, the Pines Ranch, horses, longtime friends, and helping others. He had a heart "as big as all outdoors."A member of the LDS Church, active in the Jordan River 12th Ward.

Mac lived a full and happy life with his sweetheart, his children, and grandchildren. After the pain of his departure leaves us, we'll still remember his love of the outdoors, his laughter, stories, sense of humor, and the many happy times we had as a family. We are grateful for his example.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, five children, daughters, Laraine Broschinsky (Joe), Diane Schone (Mike), and Kris Holmes (Mike); sons, W. Alan (Diane), and Mike (Nancy), his 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four brothers, Clary, Joe, Doug, and Harold.

Preceded in death by a son, Tim McEwan.

Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 17, 12 Noon at the Jordan River 12th Ward, 1499 West 10400 South. A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
