John W. McBurney, 76 passed away at his
home in Marysville, Kansas, yesterday
morning, Thursday, January 27, 1938 at
5:00 a.m. following a long illness with
heart trouble. He was a former resident of
the Frankfort, Kansas community having
lived on the Clark farm northwest of Frank-
fort for seven years.
Besides his wife he is survived by three
daughters, Mrs. Fred Percy, Conway, Mo.
Mrs. Flora Bagby, Marshfield,Mo. Mrs.
Estella Brunk, Marysville, Kansas; three
sons, Charles C. McBurney, Harry E.
McBurney and Martin S. McBurney all
of Marysville, Kansas; one sister, Mrs.
Henry Adams, Vermillion, Kansas; and
fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Kinsley
Funeral Home in Marysville, Kansas on
Saturday afternoon January 29, 1938 at
2:00 p.m.
Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
His father is William McBurney killed in the Battle of Champion Hill 5-16-1863 in Champion Hill, MS.
