Hazel Hebert Hardy
(April 11, 1920 - January 30, 2007)

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 01, 2007 at a 11:00 a.m.. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Hazel Hebert Hardy, 86, who died January 30, 2007 at Abbeville General Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Mausoleum with Father Kevin Bordelon officiating the services.

Pallbearers will be Rainey Schexnider, Jimmy Meaux, Jr., Shane Hardy, Leo Hardy, Larry Griffin, and Donnie Bertrand. Hazel loved cooking for family and friends. She also enjoyed tending to her flower beds.

She is survived by two sons, Louis Joe Hardy and Leo Hardy both of Abbeville; five daughters, Delores Miller of Abbeville, Louella Meaux of Kaplan, Dorothy Miller of Milton, Peggy Griffin of Abbeville, and Maxine Schexnider of Abbeville; one sister, Audrey Pego of Sulphur of Sulphur; two half brothers, Curtis Abshire and Wallace Abshire both of Gueydan; two half sisters, Hattie Reese and Mattie Weekly both of Gueydan; fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Avery Hebert and the former Augusta Badon; her husband, Awill Hardy; one infant son; one infant granddaughter; one brother, J.C. Hebert; and two grandsons, Kile Griffin and Ryan Hardy.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Abbeville General Hospital and Hospice of Acadiana for the excellent medical services they provided.
