Abigail Burch was one of ten children born to Rev. George Burch & Martha Lawrence. Most of the children were born in North Carolina, three in Indiana. Abigail's family made the move to Indiana in the mid 1820's just in time for her brother George Jr. to be born in Indiana. Her father was a preacher & he was one of the first Beech Creek Baptist Church preachers.

Abigail married John Norval Crane I on 13 August 1829. His family came from Calvert County, Maryland between 1824 - 1826 to Monroe County, Indiana. Abigail & John had 12 children between 1830 - 1856. They stayed & farmed in Indiana for many decades. All of their children were born in Indiana, most died there, one died in Missouri & some in California.

Late in their years, they made a decision to move to Nebraska. It is suspected that their son John Norval Crane II had bought quite a lot of land in Nebraska & encouraged his parents to move. We have no proof of this, just the fact that they all moved there together in Perkins County, Nebraska. We have copies of land transactions, doctor bills, lumber & building supplies bought etc. John Norval II, moved his family to San Dimas,California. His parents stayed in Nebraska & died there. They are in unmarked graves with no headstones. Much of the information came from the Find A Grave person that was or is in charge of the cemetery in Madrid.

The following are their children:
George W Crane 26 Jul 1830 - 12 Dec 1906
Christina Jane crane 14 Sep 1832 - 8 Jan 1910
James D Crane 14 Feb 1835 - 19 Jun 1840
