Janice K. Howell, age 67, former Shelby resident died Sunday, June 19, 2011, in Kingston of Ashland after battling several medical issues over the course of months.
Born June 5, 1944 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Edwin B. and Lois Virginia (Gibbens) Hutchinson, she had been a Shelby area resident for over 40 years. A 1962 graduate of South Central High School in Greenwich, she retired as an administrative assistant from Ohio Job and Family Services. Janice enjoyed her family and had a passion for reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Dee (Mike) Kahl of Reynoldsburg, OH and Kristi (Howell) Planck of Macomb, Michigan; one son, Brian Howell of Elyria, OH; eight grandchildren, Natalie, Mallory and Zachary Kahl, Jordan, Taylar and Lexi Howell; Dominic and Daily Planck; one brother, James Hutchinson of Ontario; two sisters, Judy Clevenger of Mesa, AZ and Jo Rigsby of O'Fallon, MO; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, June 23, 2011, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenwich, Ohio with Rev.Tim Storms officiating. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made in Janice's memory to Marvin Memorial Library, 29 W.
