Mr. Brooks, 84, of Trout, La. was born August 26, 1928 in Jena, La. to Eddie and Pauline Thompson Brooks and passed from this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Jena Nursing and Rehab.Center.
He was a switcher for Justiss Oil Company for 15 years, member of Belah United Methodist Church for 20 years, veteran of the US Air Force and served his country in WWII at Okinawa, loved fishing, cooking and gardening.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Stalter of Pineville and Ethel Franklin of Jonesville; sons, Gerald "Cecil" Brooks, Jr. of Blade Loop and Eddie G. Brooks of Belah; brother, Earl K. Brooks of Jena; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Katie Brooks, daughter, Jeanita Lynn Brooks, sister, Edwina Guin and brothers, Floyd, J.D. and Shelby Brooks.
Pallbearers will be Brian Brooks, Brad Brooks, Brandon Brooks, Chad Franklin, Steven Brooks and Travis Bradford. Honorary pallbearer will be Raymond "Bo" Smith.
