Miguel Manuel Lopez, known to everyone as "Manny," lost his battle with diabetes surrounded by his loving family on Nov. 23, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria, Arizona.

Manny was born the youngest of four childrenon Sept. 29, 1949 in Hurley, New Mexico to David and Manuela Lopez.

The family moved to Kearny in 1958 where Manny attended Ray High School and graduated as part of the class of '68.

He married Lavina Anglin in December of 1973 and the two resided in Kearny, AZ until 2002 when they made the move to Mesa, Arizona. After ten years of living in Mesa, they decided that a cooler climate was calling them so they made the move to Chino Valley, AZ in 2012.

Manny dedicated 30 years of his life to the Ray Unified School District in Kearny running their bus barn. He was a devoted and conscientious worker who always made sure that the maintenance of every bus was seen to for the safety of the students.

Other than his family, Manny's greatest love was music. He played the electric bass and contributed his talent to several bands, including The Country Four and Back Pocket Money.

He was always happiest when he was playing music and was thrilled when he was able to pass his knowledge on to his oldest grandson, Michael.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Lavina; son, Evan (Melissa) and daughter, Deana; grandchildren, Michael, Kristin, Shelby, Thomas, and Gabriel; and sisters, Merlinda (Eddie Joe) Dominguez and Natalia Lopez.

Manny was preceded in death by his parents, David and Manuela Lopez, and his brother Elfego (Al) Lopez.

Manny will be fondly remembered for his lively personality, his musical talent and his love for his family.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Infant Jesus of Prague Hall.

Manny will be laid to rest privately by his family with his beloved older brother Al in the Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden.
